What is the Purpose of PM?

The most prominent advantage of powder metallurgy lies in its high material utilization. Its "near-net shaping" process allows parts to have a shape close to the final product, significantly reducing the amount of cutting work (even eliminating the need for processing in some cases). The material waste rate is usually less than 5%, far lower than the 30%-50% waste rate of traditional casting and forging processes.
